## What changed

Netlify's free plan is now metered by a monthly credit allowance rather than the retired 100GB bandwidth and 300 build-minute blocks, with sites pausing when credits run out.

## What it means for buyers

Free-tier comparisons that still quote '100GB free bandwidth' for Netlify are stale. For most static SPA hosting the practical ceiling is similar, but heavy build minutes or function usage now draw from one shared pool, which makes Netlify's free plan easier to exhaust than Cloudflare Pages' unlimited-bandwidth free tier. Check the dated credit numbers on the Netlify profile page before committing a high-traffic site.
