Deepslate raises €7.7M seed for European speech-to-speech models
Berlin voice-AI model lab Deepslate announced a €7.7 million seed round on 2026-10-01, led by 42CAP with Alstin Capital and SIVentures participating, claiming 440 ms speech-to-speech latency.
What it means for buyers
More model choice and an EU-hosted option for voice-agent builders in a lane currently dominated by US infrastructure: platform buyers (Retell, Vapi and similar) gain a potential European speech vendor at a time when data residency is a real procurement question. Treat the "fastest in the world" claim as vendor framing over a third-party leaderboard attribution until we measure it in our own benchmark.
